Shattered

Ice

A small-town New England hockey drama that takes you through a young teenager's high school life and the impact of his best friend's life.

From the Black Ice team…

BLACK ICE is a time period piece inspired by events that occurred during our time in high school between 2004-2009. During that period we lost multiple students to suicide, including our friends and family. BLACK ICE is a FICTIONAL story but it speaks to the emotions and thoughts after a love one has died by suicide and the impact it had on our town. We believe it's the right time to make a film like this because we are in the midst of society accepting mental health and normalizing the conversations. This film will be a tool around high schools and colleges to help grow the conversations around suicide, mental health & athletes, and showcase a snapshot of what our time in high school was like and to reiterate the importance of having hard talks with friends, family, and community members.

We are so excited and grateful that Hope Givers is giving us the opportunity to be a part of their community and fiscally sponsor this film BLACK ICE. It has been eight years of developing this movie and we have wanted to create a community and movement along with this story, as we continue to grow, grassroots style. Please consider donating and becoming part of our Nehoiden Black Bear team and Hope Givers partnership and follow our journey of making this film and vision happen. #BlackIceSkatesWithMentalHealth.
